One of the gifts that was brought to us through the advent (coming) of Jesus was peace. We are reminded in this season to slow down and receive this gift of peace from our busy and distracted hearts. While the world anxiously toils for that which is fleeting you we can slow down and peacefully enjoy that which is eternal, Jesus the Prince of Peace.
Jesus declare to His disciples before he went to the cross:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 ESV
This gift of peace is for everyone of His followers to receive and enjoy even through the most tumultuous times of our lives. We don’t have to let the troubles of this world trouble our hearts and paralyze us in fear because Jesus gives us a supernatural peace that the world can’t give us.
